The Yankees score 4 in the 6th to take out Kansas City 4-2.  Brett Gardner with his 7th blast, a 2-run shot.  James Paxton gives up 1 run in 5 1/3 in the no-decision and now has a sub-2.00 ERA.  Hunter Dozier 3-4 with his 16th in the loss.

Max Kepler shows off his power with numbers 23 and 24 today, but Baltimore weathers the storm to beat the Twins 6-5.  Anthony Santander with his 7th in the win.

Austin Nola, younger brother of Aaron, goes 2-4 with a couple RBI as Seattle doubles up the Blue Jays 6-3.  Danny Salazar strikes out 9 in 6 2/3 while giving up 3 runs for his 3rd win.

Manuel Margot clocks a 9th inning home run (6) off of Josh Taylor in Tampa’s 6-5 comeback win against Boston.  Xander Bogaerts with his 12th in the loss.

The White Sox score 5 runs on 4 long balls and beat the Indians 5-4.  Eloy Jimenez (12), Adam Engel (2), Nomar Mazara (15) and Edwin Encarnacion (12) all leaving the park.  Lucas Giolito gives up 1 run over 5 1/2 to move to 3-5.

Yordan Alvarez (12) and George Springer (17) combine for all 5 of Houston’s runs as they come out on top of Texas 5-4.  Justin Verlander fans 10 over 6 2/3 while giving up the 4 runs for win number 8.

Michael Hermosillo (4) and Andrelton Simmons (8) both with solo homers and providing the only offense in this game.  Angels shut out the Marlins 2-0.  Julio Teheran scatters 4 hits over the first 8 innings while striking out 9 to improve to 7-3.

Oakland and Detroit were rained out and will be made up as a double header tomorrow.

Philly takes the first game of their doubleheader with the cubs today 4-2.  Bryce Harper with number 15 and Andrew McCutchen with his 4th.  Aaron Nola whiffs 10 in 6 innings giving up 1 run to move to 7-1.  Good to see the Nola boys have a good day.

A little bit more offense in game 2, but the same result as Philadelphia tops the Cubbies in this one 11-9.  Rhys Hoskins hits his 19th and Roman Quinn goes 2-4 with his 3rd home run and 4 RBI.

Brad Miller 2-5 with 2 RBI in St. Louis’ 4-1 victory over the Mets.  Carlos Martinez still in cruise control giving up 1 run on 2 hits over 5 innings for win number 6.  His ERA goes up .01 to settle at 1.63.

Max Muncy blasts 2 out of the yard (16, 17) including the game winner in the 12th as the Dodgers take out the Reds by a score of 6-5.

Victor Robles with an RBI double and Juan Soto with a 2-run double, both in the 8th, help the Nationals over the Braves 4-3.  Freddie Freeman 2-4 with 2 RBI in the loss.

Tommy Pham with his 9th and Fernando Tatis Jr. hits his 3rd in his last 4 games to give him 14 on the season, as the Padres pound the Brewers 9-2.  Zach Davies now 9-1 as he gives up just a solo shot to Christian Yelich (10) in his 8 innings of work.

Daniel Murphy has a 3-run shot (8) and Raimel Tapia adds his 3rd in Colorado’s 7-4 victory over Arizona.

Austin Slater blasts 2 out of the park (9, 10) as San Francisco beats the Pirates 7-5.  Josh Bell cranks his 10th in the loss.

Transactionally Speaking:

The Twins activate Josh Donaldson;

The Rockies activate Charlie Blackmon and send him to AAA for a rehab assignment;

The Red Sox designate Brian Johnson for assignment before he throws 1 pitch for the big club this year; and

Pittsburgh puts Kevin Newman on the 10-day IL with a sprained ankle.
