The Angels bounce the Indians 7-3.  Jo Adell must be tired of reading my negativity and puts up a 2-4 day with a run and an RBI, and Tommy La Stella adds a 3-run shot.

The White Sox got fed up being the laughing stock of the league and explode for 22 today.  Jose Abreu hits his 9th, a 3-run job, and Edwin Encarnacion hits 2 (9) while adding 5 RBI.  Gio Gonzalez goes 7 2/3 giving up Baltimore’s only run of the day, Ryan Mountcastle’s 9th.

Jorge Polanco hits a 3rd inning grand slam off of Jordan Montgomery in Minnesota’s 7-1 victory over the Yankees.  Jose Berrios gives up a Brett Gardner 1st inning home run and then settles down to strike out 8 over 5 innings to pick up his 5th win.

The Royals get back on the winning track against the Red Sox by a score of 2-1.  Adalberto Mondesi goes 3-5 and Whit Merrifield and Alex Gordon add RBI singles.  Odd stat of the day, KC’s closer pitches the most innings (2 2/3) and throws the most pitches (34) as the Royals use 7 pitchers in today’s normal 9 inning affair.  Rafael Devers with 3 hits and Collin McHugh strikes out 10 over 6 innings in the loss.

Brandon Lowe drives in Ji-man Choi in the bottom of the 9th for the only run in Tampa’s 1-0 victory over the Blue Jays.  Blake Snell with 9 strikeouts in 6 2/3 of shutout work in the no-decision.

Juan Soto 2-3 with an RBI and Victor Robles adds an RBI in Washington’s 3-1 win over the Rangers.  Trea Turner plays the whole game and doesn’t show any signs of yesterday’s knee inflammation.  Max Scherzer pitches 8 innings of 1-run ball for his 6th victory.

The Astros are home today…you know what that means.  They mysteriously put up 21 to Oakland’s 1.  Jose Altuve and Kyle Tucker combine to go 6-9 with 2 home runs, 11 RBI and 7 runs scored while Yordan Alvarez, Carlos Correa, Alex Bregman and George Springer all add their own home runs.  Justin Verlander strikes out 12 as he goes all 9 while giving up an RBI single to Matt Olson for his 6th win.  Khris Davis with back to back sombreros and is now down to an even .280.

Nick Castellanos has himself a 3-run walk-off against Keona Kela as the Reds come back and beat the Pirates 5-4.

JT Realmuto goes 3-4 with 2 home runs (3) and 4 RBI as the Phillies beat the Mets 7-4.  Michael Wacha goes 8 innings while giving up 3 runs to pick up win number 3.

The Braves unload a barrage on the Cardinals today 11-4.  Marcel Ozuna leads the way going 3-4 with his 8th home run and 5 RBI.

Christian Yelich comes up 3-3 with a homer (8) and 3 RBI while 5 Brewer pitchers combine to toss a shutout against the Giants 6-0.  Brent Suter pitches the first 5 2/3 to even his record at 3-3.

Miami pounds the Cubs 8-2.  Corey Dickerson 3-4 with 2 RBI while Caleb Smith gives up 1 earned run over 6 2/3 for win number 3.

Cody Bellinger continues to smash with his 23rd round tripper while Enrique Hernandez and Corey Seager combine to go 8-11 with 2 home runs and 8 RBI as the Dodgers whoop the Rockies 15-6.

Ketel Marte is proving to be the catalyst with his 3rd long ball in as many games as the Diamondbacks beat the Padres 4-2.

Transactionally Speaking:

Seattle claims Matt Lecroy off of waivers from Boston; and

Oakland sends Daniel Mengden to AAA for a rehab assignment.

That’s your Thursday trip around the diamond!
