Dinner and baseball…It goes hand in hand like Mac & Cheese!

The Yankees score 2 in the Bottom of the 8th and 1 in the 9th in their 3-2 comeback win against the Tigers.  Gary Sanchez was 3 for 3 for the winners.

Whit Merrifield hit his first home run yesterday, and belts out number 2 today in Kansas CIty’s 5-0 victory over the O’s.  Brad Keller doing the heavy lifting giving up 6 hits over 8 1/3.

The Red Sox snap their losing streak today in a 7-4 win over Toronto.  Recently called up, Jeter Downs making a significant contribution in his first action by going 2 for 5 with his first career home run and 2 RBI.  Collin McHugh picks up his 2nd win of the season giving up 2 runs over 7 innings with 11 K’s.  To make room for Downs, Michael Chavis was sent down after hitting a dismal .143.

Hunter Renfroe hits a walk off home run in the Tampa Bay’s downing of the Indians 3-2.  Another 3 hits for Francisco Lindor in the loss.  Trevor Richards fans 11 over 5 innings in a no-decision.

Joey Gallo busts out the whooping stick in Texas’ 6-3 victory over the A’s.  Khris Davis hits his 6th and 7th on the year and is currently hitting .306.  I’ll set the over/under at June 15 as to when he’ll be batting .240.

Seattle holds off the Angels in a 2-1 game.  Dylan Moore hits his first home run in the 7th and it turned out to be the game winner.

Mike Moustakas hits a 3-run shot in Cincinnati’s 6-4 win over the Braves.  4 hits for Johan Camargo on the afternoon.

Dominic Smith hits two solo shots, but it’s not enough as the Mets fall to the Marlins 3-2.  Jose Urena pitches well in the no-decision giving up just 1 run on 3 hits over the first 6.

Back to back triples by Jason Heyward and Albert Almora highlight a 5-run 6th inning as the Cubs take down the Pirates 6-2.  Yuuuuuuuuuu Darvish with his second straight win by tossing 91 pitches over 7 innings giving up 2 runs.

Washington beats up on the Brewers 11-5.  Eric Thames 2 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBI.

Nomar Mazara goes 3 for 5 with a home run and 3 RBI for the White Sox today as they drop the Rockies 10-4.  Reynaldo Lopez moves to 3 and 1 giving up 3 runs over 7 1/3.

George Springer hits his 5th home run of the year in the Astros’ 7-5 win over Arizona.  Starling Marte just a double shy of hitting for the cycle.  He ends up 3 for 4 with a walk and a strikeout.  Oh what could have been, Starling!

Yolmer Sanchez hits a 2-run walk off double for the Giants as they beat Philly 4-3.  Big Rhys Hoskins hits his 10th for the Phils.

Joey Lucchesi, et al combine on a 2-hitter as the Padres clobber the Cardinals 7-1.  Lucchesi goes the first 6 giving up just a Kolten Wong solo shot while striking out 6.

Max Kepler is the new home run leader.  His 2-run bomb in the 7th off Blake Treinen is his 12th of the year as the Twins defeat the Dodgers 6-3.  Kenta Maeda gives up 3 runs over 6 1/3 to notch his 4th victory of the year.

In transaction news, J.A. Happ gets placed on the 15-day IL.
