Cleveland takes the series against the Red Sox winning by a score of 2-1 today.  Bobby Bradley hit a walk-off home run, his 3rd long ball of the year, in the bottom of the 13th off of Ryan Brasier to send everyone home.

The Angels top the Rangers 9-4.  Mike Trout 1-1 with 4 walks and now has an OBP of .479, if that’s your thing.  Brian Goodwin with a 2-run double while Max Stassi adds a 2-5 day with 2 RBI.  Julio Teheran with his 6th win as he gives up 2 runs over 7 innings.

Gary Sanchez with the only extra base hit for the Yankees today, but it was a 4-bagger.  Yankees put up 3 to the Mariners’ 1.  James Paxton settling down in his 3rd outing of the year, striking our 6 and giving up 1 run over 6 1/3 in the no-decision.

Adalberto Mondesi with his 8th home run, a 3-run shot, but that wasn’t enough for the struggling Royals as they fall to the White Sox 5-4.  Eloy Jimenez 3-5 with 3 RBI and Dallas Keuchel picks up his 3rd win giving up 4 runs over 6 1/3.  Keuchel still with a hideous 6.34 ERA.

Tampa cools the major league best Minnesota Twins today 6-4.  Ji-man Choi with his 12th and Austin Meadows with his 9th.  Brendan McKay fires off his 4th win in a row by striking out 8 over 7 2/3 while yielding 2 runs.

CJ Cron goes 2-4 with his 12th jack in the Tigers’ 3-1 victory over the A’s.  Khris Davis was a DNP and that’s going to screw our timeline!

It takes Colorado 61 games, but they finally pick up their 20th win of the year as they beat the Diamondbacks 7-5.  Trevor Story goes 3-5 with his 18th bomb of the year.

Omar Narvaez with a solid day at the plate.  He goes 3-5 with 5 RBI, 4 of which coming from his 10th home run, as the Brewers beat the Nationals 8-3.  Steven Strasburg leaves after giving up 1 hit over 3 innings with a mild shoulder strain.

Anthony DeSclafani with line of the day for his 6-hit complete game shutout against the Pirates.  DeSclafani also did it at the plate going 1-2 with a walk, a sacrifice and his first (and maybe only) 2 RBI of the year.  Cincy wins this one 7-0.

Garrett Cooper is singing “Staying Alive” in the dugout as he goes 1-4 to extend his hit streak to 23 games, but it’s a Chase Headley sac fly in the 9th that gives the Phillies the win over the Marlins 2-1.  Aaron Nola gives up 1 run in 7 1/3 in the no-decision.

Jose Altuve hits his 14th round tripper of the year in the Astros’ 8-2 victory over the Mets.  Lance McCullers Jr leaves after 4 innings with a sore elbow.

The Cubs win one against the Orioles 7-4.  Steven Souza with a bases loaded double and Albert Almora goes 3-5 with an RBI.

The Dodgers score 4 in the 7th to top the Braves 5-2.  Joc Pederson with his 21st jack and Chris Taylor has a pinch hit 2-run single.  Old pal, Joe Kelly picks up his first win in relief by tossing 2/3 of an inning.  He’s now 1-5.

And finally, the Padres make it 3 out of 4 against the Giants as they blank them today 4-0.   Austin Hedges hits a 2-run bomb, his 5th of the year, and Tommy Pham adds a 2-5 day with an RBI.  Zach Davies tosses 7 innings of 3-hit baseball to improve to 8-1.

Transactionally Speaking:

The Rookie draft with take place later on today;

Oakland activates AJ Puk and Daniel Mengden; and

Philly designates Neil Walker for assignment.  Walker a career .267 hitter with 150 home runs and 609 RBI.

  1. The only complaint I have against the demon sim is its tendency to predict low scoring games when the Yanks win, while opponents put up astronomical numbers when the Yanks lose. It’s like the sim often glitches and sees the Yanks as the punchless Lilliput and the rest of the league as the overwhelming Brobdingnag. PUT ME IN PLACE OF THE SIM!!!!! I guarantee fairness!!!!
    …Maybe.
