Let them play

Cleveland starts us off today with their victory over Baltimore 6-5.  Francisco Lindor with his 13th home run and is now just shy of the .300 mark.

Minnesota manages 8 hits, but can’t get anyone across the plate as they get shut out by the Tigers 7-0.  Casey Mize tosses the first 5 2/3 to pick up his 4th win.

Tampa keeps the Yankees brooms away as the Rays beat New York today 5-3.  Kevin Kiermaier hits his 6th and Charlie Morton fans 11 over 7 innings giving up 3 runs to bring his record to 2-3.

Rougned Odor hits double digits with his 10th home run in Texas’ 11-2 trouncing of the Blue Jays.  Matt Shoemaker drops to 1-7 and sees his ERA top 8.00.  Cut bait Toronto!

Houston slaps the Royals around by a score of 11-1.  George Springer with his 11th and Jose Altuve with his 12th of the year.  Zack Greinke keeps his fine season moving along.  He goes 6 1/3 today giving up just one run to see his ERA settle at 2.74.  He’s now 4-1 on the year.

Mike Trout can’t stay out of the highlights lately.  He goes 2-4 with a home run and 4 RBI in the Angels’ 11-4 win over the Nationals.

Tom Murphy goes yard in back to back games and Kyle Seager manages a 4-6 day with 2 RBI.  I’m not sure Seager ever had 4 hits in a season when he was in my fantasy lineup.  The Mariners pick this one up over the A’s 6-5.  Khris Davis, 0-5…IT’S HAAAAPENIIIINNNG!

Eugenio Suarez 2-4 with a couple of doubles and 2 RBI in Cincinnati’s 4-3 victory over the Marlins.  Jorge Alfaro breaks his foot courtesy of a Luis Castillo pitch and is expected to miss 4 weeks.

Yadier Molina gets milestone hit number 2,000 in the Cardinals’ 7-3 victory over the Pirates.  Some people say Molina is a shoo in hall of famer…His career numbers are .282, 158 home runs, 933 RBI, 711 runs scored to go along with 9 all-star appearances, 9 gold gloves, 1 silver slugger award and a two-time top 5 MVP candidate.  What say you, my faithful followers?  Yay or nay on Molina being a hall of famer?

The Cubs put up 4 in the 8th, but they come up short of the Brewers 8-6.  Luis Urias 3-5 with 3 RBI in the cause.  Corbin Burnes picks up his 3rd win giving up 1 run over 5 1/3.

Jake Marisnick had it going on today as he goes 5-7 in the Mets’ 5-4 victory over the Diamondbacks.  Zac Gallen leaves the game with an apparent injury after giving up 3 runs in 4 innings.

Alex Colome gives up not 1, but 2 home runs in the bottom of the 9th as the Padres come from behind to beat the White Sox 6-5.  Brian Dozier and Wil Myers doing the damage in the 9th.

Mookie Betts joins the 5-hit club as he raps 4 singles and a double to go along with 4 RBI as the Dodgers beat up on the Phillies 14-2.  Cody Bellinger moves back into the home run lead as he crushes 2 more today to give him 4 in the past 2 games and 16 overall.

The Braves smoke the Red Sox today 13-2.  Ozzie Albies 2-5 with his 8th homer leading the way for Atlanta.  Bryse Wilson winning his 3rd straight, striking out 9 through 7 1/3 and giving up a home run to Alex Verdugo.  Nathan Eovaldi with the horrid start, giving up 7 earned in just 1 1/3 innings of work.  His ERA jumps from 5.33 to 6.34.

Mike Yastrzemski hits his first home run of the season and Brandon Belt adds his 3rd to go with 4 RBI as the Giants send the Rockies packing 11-4.

Transactionally speaking:

The Marlins put Jorge Alfaro on the 10-day IL; and

The Braves designate Nick Markakis for assignment.

That’s your Wednesday trip around the diamond!
