The Red Sox are slowly coming back to Earth as they drop another one to the Yankees 8-2.  Giancarlo Stanton hits his 11th of the year to highlight the offense.  Matt Hall should have stayed in the hall, or at least Triple A.  He gives up 7 hits, 6 walks and 4 runs over 5 innings to see his ERA settle at 9.35.  Might want to send him back down.  Positive news for the Sox…Andrew Benintendi goes 3 for 3 with his 5th home run and is now hitting .341.  Must be time to ship him off, right front office?

Ryan Mountcastle continues to rake.  Today he goes 3 for 4 with his 7th jack and is now batting .330.  The Orioles clip the Angels’ wings 9-5.  Future first ballot hall of famer, Albert Pujols, hits his 660th career home run to tie Willie Mays for 5th on the all-time list.

Jonathan Schoop goes 4 for 5 with a homer and 4 RBI as the Tigers take a 12 inning bite out of Cleveland 11-10.  Francisco Lindor hits hist 12th in the loss.

Brandon Lowe had a career day going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs while driving in 7 in Tampa’s 14-5 victory over the Rangers.

Yordan Alvarez pops his 8th home run and Josh Reddick, replacing an injured Kyle Tucker, hits a 9th inning grand slam to end Seattle’s day.  Astros take this one 7-4.

Eddie Rosario and Miguel Sano go a combined 7 for 10 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI as the Twins beat the Royals 10-8.

Matt Chapman and Mark Canha each hit home runs off of the now 0-7 Tanner Roark and Jesus Luzardo gives up 4 hits and no runs through 6 1/3 as the A’s pick up a win over the Blue Jays 5-1.

Kolten Wong and Harrison Bader both with 2 hits and an RBI in the Cardinals’ victory over the Mets 5-3.  Jeff McNeil the bright spot for the Mets going 2 for 3 with his 8th home run.  McNeil is now hitting .331.

The Cubs’ corners were on fire today.  Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant team up for a 6 for 10, 2 home run and 5 RBI day as the Cubs take down Washington 8-5.  Yu Darvish throws 7 innings of shutout ball to pick up his 3rd win.

Vince Velasquez gives up 1 run on 3 hits through 6 2/3 as the Phillies 4-hit the Pirates in a 3-1 game.  Velasquez now seeing his ERA under 4.00.

In the bottom of the 9th, pinch hitter Jedd Gyorko drives in Christian Yelich in a Milwaukee 1-0 walk-off over Arizona.  Luke Weaver with 8 innings of shutout work while Brandon Woodruff goes 6 strong of the same.

Austin Riley hits a single in the bottom of the 9th to tell Marcell Ozuna to COME ON DOWWWN, as the Braves walk-off against the Marlins 3-2.

It looks like they kept score during batting practice today as the Reds put up 18 to Colorado’s 16.  9 home runs in all today with Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story both cranking 2.  Blackmon eventually left this one with a strained abdominal and could miss up to 5 week.

Kevin Gausman was a force today.  Over 8 innings he scattered 7 hits and struck out 9 as the Giants shut out the White Sox 3-0.

In the bottom of the 10th, Mookie Betts blasts his first walk-off home run in Dodger blue.  LA takes today’s game over the Padres 3-2.

Transactionally speaking:

Sergio Romo is back from rehab for the Twins…corresponding move was to designation Tyler Clippard for assignment;

Baltimore removes Jose Rondon from the 40-man roster; and

The Angels activate two-way star Shohei Ohtani.

That’s your Saturday trip around the diamond!

      1. That stat sucks!!! I don’t care if it’s a fact, I call FAKE NEWS!!! As for yesterday, take comfort in knowing that it took a fall and an injury to largely keep me off many of my favorite sites. I’m back and just in time to see the sim finally get it right!

      2. Bah, sorry to hear about the injury. Let’s see if this hurts just as much. Since 2010, I personally won as many rings as the Yankees lol. Seriously though, get well soon!
