Hes safe

Without further ado, lets see how today’s games played out.

Alex Cobb is 1 of 3 pitchers to join the 5-win club today.  Cobb tosses 5 2/3 giving up 1 run as the O’s beat the Blue Jays 5-3.  Trey Mancini hits his 3rd home run here.

The Indians rolled to an easy 5-0 win over the Yankees.  Leading the way was Mike Clevinger who shackled the Yanks, holding them to just 4 hits.  Big shots came from Jose Ramirez and Jake Bauers.

The Padres hang 10 on the Tigers and win 10-3.  Fernando Tatis, jr., and the misunderstood Yasiel Puig go yard in this one.  Garrett Richard ups his record to 3 and 2 by going 6 1/3 giving up 3 earned runs.

Kevin Kiermaier hits his 4th home run of the year in the 8th inning and that ended up being the difference-maker in Tampa’s 4-3 victory over the Royals.

Corey Kluber gets off the schneid picking up his 1st W of the season.  Kloobs gives up 4 hits over 8 innings striking out 9 to help the Rangers beat the Mariners 3-2.  Kyle Seager made things tense in the 9th by hitting a 2-run double off Jose Leclerc, but Rafael Montero came in to get the final 3 outs with no further damage.

The unbeaten streak goes to 3 for Justin Verlander today as he pitches 6 innings of shutout ball as the Astros top the A’s 2-0.  Alex Bregman with 3 hits and an RBI and George Springer blasts his 4th home run to supply the offense.

Down go the Red Sox!  Minnesota whips it good in their 11-2 victory.  Eddie Rosario, Miguel Sano, and Alex Avila all drinking the Boom Sauce today.  Nathan Eovaldi pitches the stinker for the Sox.

A 2-2 game in the bottom of the 9th and Michael Kopech gives up a run to “earn” his first loss this year as the Angels come back and beat the White Sox 3-2.  Perhaps Kopech shouldn’t be pitching back to back days quite yet.

Walks walks walks, that was the name of the game in Philadelphia’s 6-4 victory over the Cubs.  With 5 hits, none of which of the extra base variety, Philly scores six runs, thanks to the Cubs issuing 9 free passes, 6 courtesy of starter Tyler Chatwood.  Aaron Nola picks up his 5th win in this wild affair.

Mookie Betts may be warming up as he hits his 7th home run of the year in the Dodgers’ dismantling of the Pirates 5-1.  Walker Buehler gives up 4 hits in 8 innings of work adding 9 K’s to move to 3 and 1.

Wade Miley gives up 3 long balls and remains winless as Cincinnati loses to Arizona 5-2.  Robbie Ray lit up 10 batters on his own while giving up 2 runs over 6 1/3.

Marcel Ozuna hits 2 home runs, but the 2nd one sent everybody home as Atlanta comes back to beat the Mets 8-7.  Young superstar Ronald Acuna adding 3 hits including his 7th bomb.

Jack Flaherty joins the 5-win club with a 5 inning outing while giving up just 1 run and striking out 8.  Yadier Molina goes 3 for 4 with 2 RBI as the Cardinals impose their will on the Marlins 7-1.

Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon show off their power in Colorado’s 6-2 victory over the Brewers.  Antonio Senzatela picking up his 3rd victory.

And finally, Juan Soto highlights the offense with a 2 for 5 night with his 8th home run of the year as the Nationals double up the Giants 4-2.

Sadly, only one relatively significant transaction today.  Miami must be desperate as they sign Carlos Gomez to a minor league deal.  Gomez played 35 games for the Mets last year compiling a .198 average with 3 home runs and 10 RBI.

That’s your daily ration!
