Ozzman

Bringing us all into the long weekend, here are your Friday MLB simulation results!

Aaron Judge 2-4 with an RBI and Erik Kratz with a 2-run triple in a 4-3 Yankees win over the Mariners.  Jordan Montgomery pitches 6 2/3 innings giving up solo shots to Mitch Haniger and Tom Murphy to pick up his 3rd win.

Nate Pearson continues to lead the Blue Jays to victory.  Pearson gives up 2 runs over 5 innings to move his record to 5-2.  The Jays get 3 RBI from Randal Grichuk and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. goes 3-5 in Toronto’s 8-4 victory over Baltimore.

Rafael Devers goes 4-5 with his 13th home run and 3 RBI and Xander Bogaerts goes 3-5 with his 9th shot and 5 RBI as the Red Sox beat the Astros in a rout 9-2.  Matt Hall picks up his first career victory giving up 2 runs over 7 innings.

The Rays clobber the Tigers 14-5.  Hunter Renfroe leads the charge with a 3-6, 2 home run and 4 RBI performance while Manuel Margot and Nate Lowe both chip in 3 hits.

Kansas City has now lost 5 of their last 6 games.  Today’s loss comes at the hands of the Rangers 5-2.  Ronald Guzman was the force behind the Texas bats today going 3-4 with a homer and 4 RBI.  Kyle Gibson evens his record at 3-3 giving up 1 earned run over 8 innings.

Max Kepler keeps his power stroke going.  He sends his 17th out of the park today and his now average sits at .299.  Twins smack down the White Sox 9-1.

Justin Upton singles in Mike Trout in the 6th inning for the only run in the game between the Angels and Oakland.  A tough break for Dylan Bundy as he had a no-hitter going through 7 1/3 innings before he was taken out of the game with a back injury.  Matt Chapman ends up leading off the 9th inning with a single off of Hansel Robles to keep this one from going into the history books.  Khris Davis is now down to a .290 average.

Josh Bell knocks his 9th over the wall in a 4-3 Pirates’ victory over the Giants.

Trea Turner back in the leadoff spot and says “I don’t care where you put me in the lineup, cuz all I do is hit!”  Turner goes 3-5 with his 7th home run and adds 3 RBI, but it’s Trevor Plouffe that hits a 3-run blast in the bottom of the 11th that takes the Nationals to an 8-5 victory over the Marlins.  Max Scherzer fans 11 over 5 2/3 in the no-decision.

Fernando Tatis Jr. with his 7th home run today.  Cincinnati scores 2 in the 8th courtesy of Jesse Winker’s 3rd home run, but the Reds come up just short of the Padres 4-3.  Dinelson Lamet gives up just 1 run over 5 2/3 to pick up his 2nd win of the year.

Michael Conforto hits his 12th long ball in the Mets’ 3-1 win over the Braves.  Rick Porcello gets back to a .500 record at 3-3 as he gives up 1 run over 8 innings.

Victor Caratini with a pinch hit grand slam to highlight the Cubs’ 6-1 victory over the Brewers.  Jon Lester gives up 1 run over 6 1/3 to move his record to 3-4.

The Diamondbacks score 4 in the top of the 13th to take out the Cardinals 8-4.  Eduardo Escobar comes within a single of hitting the cycle in this one.

A Deivy Grullon home run in the top of the 12th was the difference maker in the Phillies’ 6-5 win against the Rockies.

And finally, line of the day goes to Mike Clevinger as he pitches a complete game 2-hit shutout against the mighty bats of the Dodgers.  Clevinger also adds 10 strikeouts and is now 2-4 with a 3.50 ERA on the season.  Cleveland wins this one 3-0.

Transactionally Speaking:

The only one of note is that the Pirates put Chris Archer on the 15-day IL with a sprained ankle.

Happy long weekend from us at the Nightly Unwind to all you out there in the interwebs.  Drink often, but drink responsibly!  Cheers!

  1. The Mets are winning a bit now? Okay, fine, I guess the prayers of the desperate finally reached up above. The most notable thing to me besides the Mets’ unfortunate winning streak and the Yanks putting together two in a row is the Dread Sux-Cheatstros series. As much as I don’t care for the “Pahk the Cah Crew,” I currently have greater levels of distaste toward the Houston Hucksters. So while I will never, ever, cheer for the Sox to win, I certainly root for the Astros to lose. Now, let’s talk about the new Class for the sim, “YankeesWinNumber28″…
