It’s a short trip around the majors today with just 6 games on the docket.

Starting us off we have Toronto busting out the bats in their 12-10 win over the Astros.  Bo Bichette goes 4-5 with his 9th home run to go along with 3 RBI while Yordan Alvarez hits his 9th and 10th and Kyle Tucker adding his 10th as well.

Miguel Sano is in full on beast mode, hitting his 3rd long ball in 3 games to give him 16 on the year, but it’s Max Kepler’s 15th in the bottom of the 9th that powers the Twins over the Orioles 4-3.

Anthony Rendon goes 3-4 with an RBI and David Fletcher drives in 2 in the Angels’ 3-1 victory over the Royals.  Julio Teheran gives up 1 run over 7 innings on his way to win number 4.  Clay Buchholz matches the 1 run over 7 inning effort in the no-decision and sees his ERA drop to 3.19.  The Red Sox could sure use a starter with those type of numbers!

Marcus Stroman has his way with Pittsburgh today, spinning a complete game 5-hit shutout on 99 pitches.  Amed Roasario hits his 4th as the Mets put up 6 runs on the day.  Josh Bell seemed to be the only Pirates player to see the ball as he has 3 of the 5 hits for the Bucs.

Dansby Swanson with a 10th inning RBI triple to put and keep the Braves on top of the Cardinals 5-4.  Andrew Miller came into the 10th inning with 10 1/3 scoreless innings before he faced Swanson.

Will Smith cracks a grand slam and a solo shot off of Zack Wheeler as the Dodgers put up 13 to the Phillies’ 6.  Rhys Hoskins with his 16th bomb of the year in the loss.  The Bellinger watch…3-5 to raise his average to .362.  He also scored 2 runs and even stole his 14th bag of the year…could be on his way to a 40/40 season!

Transactionally speaking:

Seattle gets Mitch Haniger back from his rehab assignment;

Atlanta gets Cole Hamels back from his rehab assignment;

Mets get Yoenis Cespedes back from his rehab assignment;

Cleveland puts Jordan Luplow on the 10-day IL with a strained hammy; and

Toronto activates Teoscar Hernandez.

That’s your Monday morning trip around the bases!

  1. The Jays? Outslugging the Cheat-stros? 12-10? Really? REALLY?!?! What acts of God other than those listed above forced the Houston Hucksters to give up 12 runs to Toronto? Oh, and lest I forget… BOMBERS RULE!
